Bravo Nancy ~ for saying what regrettably needs to be said. I look forward to your posts each time as they truly resonate with many of us reasonably intelligent, critically thinking and always proud and unified Canadians.

Absolutely correct its not the census worker trying to earn some money . If you had only done it online you wouldn't have had anyone at your door. If for some reason you didn't get to it ir simply forgot then expect a knock on your door and answer the questions

When lack of research and lack of education became something to be proud of.

I have always understood that there is a certain demographic that no matter how clear and obvious things are, will stand up and shout to make something political. As a former Albertan (lived there 50 years), I see the resistance to common sense and the lack of practical education showing up more and more. Regardless as to the reasons for both of those, the idea that a census as a political weapon is beyond bonkers…proving once again that there will always be people who prefer to shoot themselves in the foot and do so vocally and vociferously. I guess we just have to let them do it and allow them the privilege of any consequences. I am appalled that a census worker even has to put up with crap like that. Apparently common courtesy has also gone the way of common sense. There appears no point in even asking the question are we not better than this? Fortunately where I now live the answer is currently yes.
